Between the Ripples explores consciousness, identity, and the relationship between the self and thought. At its center is the realization: I am not my thoughts; I have thoughts. From this comes a larger question: Who are we beyond our thoughts, roles, and the identities through which we define ourselves?
The monumental woman represents the observer, or higher self, the calm and enduring awareness capable of witnessing thoughts and emotions without becoming them. Above her, the water represents universal consciousness, an infinite field from which individual experience emerges. Like a drop in an ocean, we may experience ourselves as separate while remaining part of something far larger.
The floating bubbles and portals represent individual thoughts and ideas emerging into awareness. The desert represents emptiness and the space between thoughts, where silence and stillness allow clarity, creativity, and new possibilities to emerge.
The small figure moving through the landscape represents the individual journey through life. Her scale offers a shift in perspective, suggesting how thoughts and problems that feel enormous when we are immersed in them can appear differently when viewed as part of something much larger.
Ultimately, Between the Ripples asks what remains when we look beyond our thoughts, roles, and identities, and explores the freedom that can exist in simply observing.
